2009 revision of a 1994 original covering the life of Daniel (Donald) Fergusson and including genealogical tables showing his descendants.
Daniel Fergusson moved to Arowhenua shortly after 1861 where he opened the first public shool at George Town, where he also served as postmaster. He became clerk to the first Geraldine Road District Board in 1864, nearing 60 years old, which he held until retirement. Daniel and his wife Catherine are buried in the Temuka Cemetery.
