Plate with coloured image of Caroline Bay in the centre.
White plate with pearlescent light green and orange glaze on upper surface. In the centre, a colour image of Caroline Bay, underneath which is written 'Caroline Bay, Timaru' in black. Colours are green, red, black, brown, and blue. In the foreground, grass and plants, including cabbage trees, which give way to sand with some foliage. At the leftmost side a small part of a pathway and fence is visible. In the midground to the left are the pavilion, rotunda, and bathing sheds. To the right are crowds of people on the beach, some of which has been improperly coloured as water. Fence along edge of sand and 'water.' In the background to the left, various buildings, to the right, a steam train.
Plate is squarish in shape. Top and bottom edges are nearly flat, side edges have small squared-off points, like handles, with decorative lines in relief. Remainder of edge is gently scalloped. Rim is coloured light orange at top and bottom and light green at sides. Colour extends partially into well.
On the bottom 'Victoria China Czechoslovakia' with crown.
