Description Woman's two piece purple wool suit of jacket and skirt handcrafted by Doris O'Brien

Fabric: Hand woven purple wool (probably hand spun) with trim using splashes of colour (red, yellow, green) in the weaving.

Jacket: Front: Collar and wide revers top stitched. Edge to edge centre front fastening with three large black hooks and eyes. Each front has a panel of the speckled fabric along side the plain. Revers backed with speckled fabric.

Back: Centre back seam and side panels. Below the waist is a shaped band of speckled fabric divided centre back.

Sleeves: Long set in sleeves with upper and lower pieces and a turned back cuff of speckled fabric.

Lining: Fully lined with red satin lining with an inverted pleat centre back.

Skirt: Front and back alike. Mini length. Waist band on the inside. Three box pleats with the inside of pleat in the speckled fabric. Invisible zip left hand side. Hem faced with navy nylon lace. Narrow red ribbon ties for hanging.

Lining: Red satin (synthetic) lining with hem edged with narrow red nylon lace.

Construction: Handcrafted fabric. Machine sewn garment with seam overlocking
