Object Name Dress
Description Dark teal lace long dress. Lace is machine made - large floral motifs with raised corded outlines.

Front: Square neckline with lace cut around floral motifs and slightly extending over the dark teal taffeta backing, giving scalloped effect. Bodice over top hangs free. Dress has lace attached to taffeta from above waist. Darts at bust and waist give shaping.

Back: Square neckline as front. Centre back opening. Black metal zip in dress.Bodice over top has four sets of two covered buttons and loops (made from lining taffeta). Darts at waist give shaping.

Sleeves: Short set in sleeves. Lace cut as in neckline, giving scalopped effect.

Lining: Dark teal shot taffeta. Inside on lining at the shoulder there is a dome and the other half on thread to hold bra straps.

Construction: Machine made. Lining stitched in with the lace. Side seams edges turned over and machined. Centre back lace seam raw. Lining selvage. Lace overlapped to give length near hem.
Hem hand stitched.
