Reverse: A picture of a Kiwi with its beak towards the ground. The kiwi is surrounded by a wreath with a ribbon bow below.
The edge of the medal reads "NO416 CORP JOHN D. ROBERTSON,TIMARU CITY RIFLE VOLS. (1904)".
The cotton grosgrain ribbon is coloured khaki. A Metal loop attaches the medal to the cotton ribbon.
