Black silk embroidered kimono styled dressing gown.
Front: Shawl neckline with soft collar extending as revers to the waist. One dome fastening at the waist. Trails of hand embroidered flowers (perhaps representing cherry blossom) from the shoulders and motifs on lower parts of the gown. Various colours of embroidery thread are used and chenille yarn in some places. The motifs differ on each side.
Back: Plain back with no shaping. A large embroidery of a peacock perched on a bough of cherry blossom occupies the whole back to just below the waist. The bird's wings are in chenille.
Sleeves: Wide elbow length sleeves with an embroidered floral spray on each.
Construction: Machine sewn gown with hand embroidery. French seams for sleeves.
