Object Name Breeches
Description Light khaki corduroy breeches for officer's uniform. Fabric has twill on top and underneath is brushed.

Front has buttons at the top for braces. Three on one side and two on the other. Fly has hidden 5 buttons and one button at the top that is not hidden. Pocket each side with button down flap. Breeches are very wide at the hip and then very narrow on the leg. Suede patch hand sewn and hand top stitched on inner legs. Lacing at the front of the leg with pairs of eyelets that are hand sewn. Laces have metal tips. Side seam comes down into top of lacing. Seam is top stitched. Behind lacing is cotton gusset. Hems bound with brown cotton lining material.

Back has W shaped waist with buttons for braces. Top edge has piping using same fabric as lining. Half belt at the back with buckle with prongs. Welt pocket on the right hand side with calico lining.

CONSTRUCTION: Top of pants lined with brown cotton. Seat of the pants are reinforced with brown tweed-like material which is handsewn in place with X's
