Object Name Teapot
Description White teapot missing lid, 'Thomson's Xmas Greetings' written in black on one side. Other side has black transfer-printed image of Caroline Bay.

Image shows several pathways and plants, including cabbage trees, in the foreground. At the left of the image is the tearooms, partially obscured by trees. In the centre is the pavilion, beside which are the bathing sheds. To the right in the foreground is the rotunda. A steam train with a trail of smoke and several other buildings are shown in the background. 'Caroline Bay, Timaru, NZ' written at bottom of image.

Teapot is small and round. Rim and tip of spout are decorated with stripe of dark blue glaze bordered by thin gold lines. Handle and spout have thin gold decorative lines. Foliate pattern in thin gold lines around joins of handle to body.

On the bottom 'Empire Ware E.P. Co. 11 27 Stoke-on-Trent England' with crown. Small 'Co' stamp also on base.
