On top of bodice is a floating panel with twelve small covered buttons down the centre front. The panel extends sideways 13cm either side of centre front. The edge is turned under and is top stitched with blue satin embroidery thread. This panel is pleated into waist band and then extends below for 90cm. A pleated band covers the waist seam.

Skirt: Centre panel pleated into waist seam and shaped out to meet side panels. Side panels pleated into seam and are quite full before being pleated, at knee height, into a small panel lined both sides with eleven small covered buttons.

Back: Bodice opening centre back V neck. Dome midway. Edge trimmed with crochet . Top stitching in satin thread 2.5cm away from edge. Bodice gathered into shoulder seam and top stitched and pleated into waist. Front flaring panel extends over the shoulder as two long tapering ties. One has a silk bobble at the end. The other bobble is missing. Waistband fastens centre back with three metal hooks and hand made eyes.

Skirt: Centre panel is open down one side to where it meets the side panel and is fastened with five domes.

Sleeves: Long sleeves with turned back cuff edged with crochet and tacked in place. There are three covered buttons on the top side of the cuff.

Lining: The bodice is lined with cream net. This net has its own centre back opening fastened with three domes. At the waist is a 50cm deep band of stiffening, lined with net and attached on one side at the waist.

Construction: Raw edges in skirt are turned over and machined. French seams in sleeves. Hems machined.
