Scope & Content

Valuation Department field notebooks, dating from circa 1900 to 1920 (primarily ca.1905 to 1910).

Divided into 44 volumes, covering areas by local authority boundaries (town districts & wards, Road Districts (RD), or Ridings). Each authority area (including two from Ashburton County) is assigned a reference number, presumably part of a larger national numbering system). The volumes are labelled as follows:

- 4/64: Timaru Borough, N.W. Ward, Bk I;
- 4/64: Timaru Borough, S.W. Ward, Bk II;
- 4/64: Timaru Borough, S.E. Ward, Bk II;
- 4/64: Timaru Borough, N.E. Ward, Bk IV;

- 4/67: Mt Somers RD District, Ashburton County;
- 4/70: Wakanui RD District (2 vols);

- 4/84: Waimataitai Riding, Levels County, Bk I to II plus and un-numbered vol (3 vols);
- 4/85: Seadown Riding, Levels County (2 vols);
