Description |
Six prints, four of Caroline Bay and two of dredged rock at Timaru, dating from 1912 and 1913. Mounted either side of a double-sided card support sheet. The images depict: - Recto: (a) & (b) Two different views of rocks lifted by the Dredge No.350 weighing from ¼ ton to 1¼ tons each, dated 26 September 1913. Frederick White, of the Dredge No.350, has been identified as being pictured in the back leaning on the rock on the left in (a) and on the right in (b); - Verso: (c) Children playing on the beach, entitled "A warm afternoon Caroline Bay Timaru"; (d) "Caroline Bay from Marine Parade Timaru"; (e) "A summer day on Caroline Bay",showing children playing and wading on the beach; (f) "The North bound Express passing Caroline Bay Timaru", probably viewed from the Terrace footbridge looking northward towards the Piazza (under construction). |
