Ballantynes Managing Director Campbell Ballantyne carrying furniture into their new Stafford Street shop, dated 21 April 1986. A caption attached to teh verso reads: "All hands were needed at the weekend as moved into the first stage of its new building in Stafford Street. Joining in with his staff was the managing director Mr Campbell Ballantyne, of Christchurch. Stage two of the building will start in about a month after the 72-year-old original Ballantynes building has been demolished. Stage two of the $1.4 million complex is due to be completed in October." |
