Description |
Several double-sided pages of prints from a disbound album belonging to Jack Adamson, dating from circa 1890-1900. The photographs are numbered and depict: - #01 - No.4: A view across flat tussock ground to the mountains beyond; No.5: A view across rocks and low peaks to the higher snow covered peaks beyond; No.6: The reflections of the snow covered peaks can be seen in the lake in the foreground; No.7: Looking across a river to bush covered hills and snow covered mountains beyond; No.8: Jack Adamson standing in front of icicles hanging from a rocky crag; No.9: A man looking through a telescope? on a tripod with mountains in the distance. - #02 - No.10: A woman standing in the snow with mountains behind her; No.11: A stream running through some rocky terrain; No.12: Two men sitting on rocks with snow in front of them and mountains behind; No.13: The Bridge at Lake Tekapo. - #03: No.14: Footprints in the snow in the foreground - mountains beyond; No.15: Sheer rock face on the other side of a stream; No.16: A snow covered ravine with mountains beyond; No.17: Rocky terrain no snow in sight; - #04 - No.18: Partly snow covered mountains with snow spilling down to the flat ground below.
