A forest is pictured, with mountains in the background]. - #34: The Divide, Eglinton - Hollyford Valley; A typical mountain in the Hollyford Valley. - #35: Makarora, Haast Pass - A bridge on the Makarora Road; Makarora River [both images look across to a range of hills/mountains]. - #36: An oats crop, near Ashburton. - #37: [3 prints relating to the realigning of the North Mole - c. 1940s] - #38: Before the trip south, January 1939. A number of power and/or telephone lines are present overhead]. - #43: The Austral-NZ'. Co's new Gold Dredge at Loweburn Ferry on the Clutha River. It weighs 2,400 tons and cost 200,000[pounds]. Buckets weight 2 tons 3 cwt[?] and cost 100[pounds] each [2 images]; The Ladder, which weighs 140 tons. - #44: Kawarau Dam over the Kawarau River which flows from Lake Wakatipu. Intended to stop the river for gold mining purposes. Now used as a bridge; Power Station, Roaring Meg, Clutha Gorge. - #45: The Gyrotiller, a deep-working plough used for breaking up the subsoil; Tekapo Church.
