A view looking across the southern end of Caroline Bay, Timaru, toward the harbour, circa 1906 to 1910. The flags on all the vessel in harbour and the siginificant number of people visible on the paths on the bay indicate the image may have been taken during a holiday or significant event. The date can be inferred from the dredge No.350 (which arrived in 1906) which is berthed at the North Mole, and the fact it doesn't appear that the No.3 wharf has yet been built (1910). |
