Cast replica of patiki/sand flounder, a rounded flatfish. Maori Name: P?tiki Latin Name: Rhombosolea plebeia Weight: less than 0.8kg Length: 25-35cm, reaching 45 cm Family:Pleuronectidae Sand flounder are endemic to New Zealand.[9] New Zealand sand flounder is found in a majority of coastal waters around New Zealand. Its largest population is found at Tasman Bay and on the East Coast of the South Island.[10] Around New Zealand they can be found in harbours, inlets, bays and open water.
