The tapestry depicts the regions of New Zealand in different colours, and marks the four major cities with a black dot. The top left corner depicts a green Maori tiki in a yellow circle. There is a red crown in the top right corner, a compass in the bottom right corner, and the bottom left corner reads "1953-4". The backing of the tapestry is linen and there is a strip of white cotton at the top. |
