Cast replica of Copper moki fish. M?ori Name: maratea English Name: Copper Moki, Red Moki Scientific Name: Latridopsis forsteri is native to the eastern Indian Ocean and southwestern Pacific Ocean around Australia from Victor Harbor, South Australia, to Port Stephens, New South Wales, and around Tasmania.[4] In New Zealand it is found from Stewart Island in the south north to the Three Kings Islands and east to the Chatham Islands.[6] This species inhabits coastal waters down as deep as approximately 60 m (200 ft). Family:Pleuronectidae Sand flounder are endemic to New Zealand.[9] New Zealand sand flounder is found in a majority of coastal waters around New Zealand. Its largest population is found at Tasman Bay and on the East Coast of the South Island.[10] Around New Zealand they can be found in harbours, inlets, bays and open water.
