[Jack Adamson at Malte Brun] - Adamson Collection
Jack Adamson at the Malte Brun bivouac, circa 1893. Depicts a somewhat weary-looking Jack Adamson with a lanolin or zinc cream on his nose and lips to deal with sunburn, posed against a large rock wall with his ice axe leaning against his left shoulder. Note too the small nub or pin at the head of his axe that would have helped locate a camera, so the axe could serve as an improvised tripod.
