Cars parked on Caroline Bay at Carnival time, in the late 1930s or early 1940s. Taken from the Benvenue Cliffs looking southward. The crowds attracted to Caroline Bay for the carnival brought with them a need for carparking. Fifty eight negatives of the farewell visit of the outgoing Governor General Sir Arthur Espie Porritt, dated 4 May 1972. Porritt is pictured being greeted by school children on Afghan Street in Pleasant Point (near the Post Office on the corner of Kyber Street), and then arriving at the Carline Bay Hall where he is pictured mingling within a reception there.
