Cattle at Mount Cook Station - Burnett Collection
Cattle pictured on the dry riverbed of Mount Cook Station / Cox's Downs, circa 1960. The area was the old Tasman [River] Island, now part of Lake Pukaki. Taken looking into the are known locally as 'Claycliff', in the vicinity of the outflow of Landslip Creek into Lake Pukaki, within the present (2022) Cox's Downs block.

George Mitchell Thomson, commemorative plaque - Clayton Station Collection
A plaque to George Mitchell Thomson, mounted on the internal wall of an unidentified building (a church), circa 1890s. The plaque records it was erected by Thomson's brothers and sisters, after he drowned in Lake Pukaki on 7 December 1885, aged 29. Bears once bore a number in the lower left corner, but it is now illegible.
